Café de Paris butter, also known as “beurre Café de Paris,” has an interesting history that dates back to the 1930s. It was created by Mr. Boubier, the owner of the “Restaurant du Coq d’Or” in Geneva, Switzerland. He developed this unique butter by combining various spices, herbs, and other ingredients to enhance the flavor of grilled beef.
This homemade Café de Paris butter will add a gourmet touch to your meals. Enjoy experimenting with it on different dishes!
Instructions
- Prepare the Butter: Soften the butter until it’s malleable but not fully melted.
- In a bowl combine the softened butter with Spice&Easy Café de Paris Spice Butter Blend, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, and mix thoroughly until well combined.
- Shape and Chill: Shape the mixture into a log approximately 2 inches in diameter. Wrap it in plastic wrap or baking paper and refrigerate until firm, about 2 hours.
- Serve: Slice the chilled butter and place it on hot grilled steaks, roasted vegetables, or your favorite dishes. The butter will melt and enhance the flavors beautifully.
